Standing on my deck

One minute walk

End of the day.

The home of the stig. Not whole lot happening around here, but I am up for moderatorship on those EA forums I'm always talking about :)

In other news, Had tornado warnings here today. There was a severe thinderstorm (with rotation!) about 15 miles away with the core headed straight at me at 30 mph. As such I spent a couple hours in the basement with my 3 dogs and two cats, otherwise alone. It was interesting

Anyway, the storm amounted too some rain and a bit of thunfer, nothing near the 60 mph wind, nickel size hail, and tornadoes that were talked about....whew.

Blogger needs emoticons...I just realised that.

That's where Stig spent his weekend.

Not too bad, even though it was a work weekend. Went up Staturday and began scraping paint, then I was given the job of picking up sticks and throwing them in a fire, which is nice! Staurday afternoon I went too a snowmobile club meeting/cookout and a good time was had. Got back from that and went kayaking on the pond you see above, got all the way too the other side when a somebody fishing said that he saw lightning. After a top speed run in the kayak too get back we put them away and then it started pouring rain.
Sunday - Old home days. Snowmobile club had a booth. We sold, basicly, crap that nobody wanted. All proceeds went too the town fire department. We got rid of just about everything, everything that wasn't sold ent too the salvation army. Don't know the money total. It was perfect weather that day, which got me too spend a fiver on the 50/50 raffle, I lost. Oh well. On the upside, I got myself and Superman puzzle from 1966 that's in prestine condition for free, can you say Ebay?

Still not whole lot happenning in the life of a certain stig, but for the last week the weather has been absolutly awsome! The past three days have ben the hottest of the year, getting hotter each time. As such on friday morning 9 trees were cut down and hauled away by me and my parents, afternoon was spnt in the pool, saturday morning was spent working on the boat as the floor was rotted out, afternoon was spent in the pool only inturrupted by cutting down 2 more trees, sunday was, well, spent in the pool!! Something I could get used to!

I know this was old news, but, anybody watch/care about the world cup? First I was rooting for USA, not expecting much, then I found that I was right and wanted Brazil too win, then I just gave up on the whole deal. I'm glad it's over too be honest, now the five weeks filled with the lack of TopGear is finally over!

I feel like I should update this here blog, as I haven't in quite a long time. Not much has been happening in the life of the stig.

Summer is here, and with it lots of heat and lots of boredom.

I've really got to do something....

Just look at it! It's called the Nissan Skyline R35 GTR (prototype), and the best news yet, it's coming to America!!! That's the exten of my knowlege on it.

Sunday, April 30, 2006

Well, it's been a damn good vacation. The first day (last friday) my parents left and they got back on Monday. Most of that time I spent at a friends house. Had a couple of relativly normal days, then I left at like noon on thursday and got back here at 'bout 3 this afternoon. In between there was a couple of days at my brothers and a really cool car show. I'll post some pics and such tomorrow, or the next day, but fer now I'm going too bed.

It's Been A While:
Sorry I've been neglecting the old blog. I've been somewhat involved (sort of) with the EA (Electronic Arts) forums, at least the Need For Speed Most Wanted. The good news ia that I actually beat it, twice. The first time I did it didn't auto-save. so I had too do it again.
In other news there's...nothing. I don't really have anything too say, but I need too say something...so here goes...blah. Job done. Anyway, I'm posting from the town library...and I'll have too go very, very soon. Like now if not sooner. More sometime in the not too far off future.

IT Was Mr. Katt In The Livingroom With The Clock!
Well I'm back from being sick and a few things have happened. Number one, I passed the 200 hit mark, or so says my counter. I have made progress in Need For Speed Most Wanted, I was stuck at one point for a long time but have since overcome that obstical...thatnks people who gave me tips at EA.com.

This morning I was awaken with a rather loud "clank". I went too the livingroom too find one of my cats standing in the ribble of a potted plant crime scene, complete with at weapon...the clock. I've got the pics above

The is gonna be a quick one. I found this the other day and have only now found time too post it. Anyway this is really really funny. It's called the Crush Calculator and what you do is put in you full name and the full name of your crushes and it'll tell you who your true love is. Do it by clicking here: http://www.crushcalculator.com/content/love/552723519 . It'll be worth it.
Dreams: OK this is going too be a quick one. I had this very very odd dream last night that was kind of a cross between The Broker, by John Grisham and Half-leave 2 (game). So I was in prison for stealing 38 cents from the multi-billion dollar a year company that I worked for. So I was in prison when I suddenly woke up with somebody telling me too come on and get up. So I did. He loaded me into his car and we drove off too some grimy old, abandoned industrial park type thing where I was told too stick close too this guy (I don't remember his name). I went exploring and found my school not far away where there was this new swing that went really high. Somebody went over the bar. Now I was back at the industrial park where I went too sleep. Next day I awoke way out in the middle of a busy shipping lane. I swam back too the park, buy I had too go fast in order too dodge the incoming ships. I got back and watched the sun set, that's really the only thing that this place had goin' for it was it's sunsets, they're incredible. Again the next day I awoke in the middle of the bay, watching the incredible sunrise. It was all brightish shades of pink and purple, dotted with lots of small clouds. I swam back, almost getting hit by a huge barge and started crying, missing my wife and 3 kids. Then I woke up. That was really weird.

I', not getting rid of the template, and my post topics shall remain the same. Updates as progress occurs.

It's about time!!! Yes we, the Americans, have finally built a good, no, awsome car!! The standard Ford GT is a pretty good car, but now there's a convertible version, called the GTX1. It's kind of like the Lamborghini Murcielago. The standard version is very good, but when a convertible got brought out it just blows your mind away (mine anyway). It just looks, better and it's more interesting. Sure performance is comprimised a bit but who cares?? You can't really maximise your 200+ mph drop-top supercar anywhere, can you? Anyway, I don't have many details about the car, but I do have pictures, and I want it. Unfortunatly there's only one, that makes it even harder too get, also rare. That's good for coolness. It's got the same 5.7 liter V8 pumping out 550 bhp. The sticker price here is $149, 000 (about £84,600) The intereior's a bit odd, but people'll be looking at hte outside anyway so it doesn't matter. There's a company that's going too start selling conversions so your GT can become a convertible. They aren't cheap though. I should point out that Foed is currently in survival mode (they lost something like $3 billion last year in porfits) and the GT is being dropped in September. Right, bed with stig.

Finally got my hands on The Sims 2 Nightlife. Best chunk of change I've spent in ohh about two weeks since I got my MP3 player. Surprised I didn't post about that....anyway It's really cool. Finallly cars, no more taxis, many more cool features, like downtown with reastraunts, bowling alleys, nightclubs, all kinds of cool stuff. I haven't had it for long but if I have another dry streak in the posting world, it might be helpful.
In other news, I got an MP3 player!! I don't care if I already said that. It's a 20 GB DELL, exactly what I wanted, and I love it!! Went snowmobiling Sunday, 92 miles, twas quite good once you got out of town and into the middle of nowhere. Even got a pic of me.
I know I've mentioned that I had too write a book for school, well I finally finished that. Well I'm out of things too say now...back in another week, hopefully sooner.

Acabion GTBO 70:
Buagatti Veyron, bah, McLaren F1, not even trying, if you want to blow the doors off anything else on the road you want the Acabion GTBO 70. Details on the one are few and I don't know if I belive the ones that there are. Anyhoo, the German company is claiming a top speed of 375 mph for the most powerful model. 0-280 is gone in 19 seconds. How did they produce that kind of speed, it's got a 1.3 liter motocycly/motorbike engine tuned to a monsterous 690 bhp. Before you get carried away with that though, you need too know that the car might as well be a motorcycle. At anything above walking pace two of the wheels fold away, creating a more aerodynamic figure. It also helps that the thing weighs 791 pounds, that's not much in car terms, the average sedan weighs about 3000 or so. Amazingly it's not hopelessly impractical, it's got a 150 liter trunk/boot, and with an electric motor for low speed driving does 70.5 mpg. Want one, not me. Look at the thing, it's not so much a car as a 375 mph funeral on wheels. I don't know about pricing but they're taking customer orders.
On an update, It's not road legal. Not Here anyway, there aren't outside mirrors and I don't see any lights, and somehow I doubt the crash-testing went well for it.

100 HITS!!!
As of right now my hit counter shows that I have had 100 hits since a few weeks ago! Yay!!

Monday, March 06, 2006

I'm very annoyed right now. SAAB (my favorite sensible car maker) made a really cool prototype car. It's called the Aero X, it does 0-62 in 4.9 seconds, pushed and oulled there by all wheel drive and a 400bhp twin-turbo V6. It has no door or windshield pillars to give the driver 180 degree vision. Instead of regular doors most of the car opens up to let you in.
So why am I annoyed then> Sounds like a great car and a great way to get rid of the rather boring image that SAAB has. Why am I annoyed....it'll never be built. COME ON!!!

Sunday, February 26, 2006

Finally got to go snowmobiling this weekend!!! I did something like 175 miles on my '05 Ski-Doo MXZ. Technically it's not mine but it's easier to say that it is. For the most part it was uneventful but there was a slight mishap. While stopping on the side of the trail for lunch (hot-dogs) a person that we were riding with rear-ended my uncle. No injuries, just a bent bumper and mud-flap-mount thing for my uncle and a broken bumper and hood for the other guy.

As far as other stuff that's happened in the past few days, one of my dogs ate (yes ate) my USB flash drive. For those who don't know it's an external hard drive that you plug in to your USB port and store many things on. Mine had music, videos, pictures, and a ten page book that I had to write for school (it's also on both mine and my parent's computers). I was playing with Moose (dog) and it fell out of my pocket. Moose'll eat absolutley anything he can get in his mouth, that has so far included such things as rocks, wood, feathers, the cats litter-box contents, and many many other random things. Anyway it fell out of my pocket and he ate it. I was sitting inside when I realised I didn't have it. I went to his pen and found two pieces of black plastic. That's it. All the metal stuff is gone. Hopefully he'll have 128mb more memory so he might just do something I tell him too. I doubt it though.

Tuesday, February 21, 2006

I just got home from school a couple hours ago and my back is fooked. I've got a severe throbbing pain right in the middle of my left shoulder blade. I just took some Advil and I hope it works, I have places to go tomorrow. I'm shadowing a friend to (hopefully) help me decide which high school I'm gonna go to.
At my own school today we had quite the conversation. One of my friends (I will from this point onward refer to him as Senator) was asking everybody whether the Girls Gone Wild movies blurred everything out like they do in the preview. (for the record I am not a porn obbsessed phycopath) It was funnier when it happeded than it is as I'm writing it I'm sure but there wasn't a person that he didn't ask as he called it a "life question". He finally got an answer and went to complaining about how Tipper (3rd or 4th person asked) didn't just tell him that it isn't censored. He didn't shut up until another person hit a ruler hanging off the egde of a table and it flew accross the room, hitting one person in the head and generally scaring the crap out of everybody. I walked right into the path of the second attacking ruler. That was really funny then, if you can't laugh at yourself who can you laugh at?

Car Stuff: Aston Martin V8 Vantage;
Yup, the cheapest of the Aston lineup. Too Bad it's not actually cheap...starting at $140,000. Styled like all modern Astons, beautfully. Performing like all modern Astons, like we can only dream about. Handbuilt. Glorious sounding 340 bhp V8. 186 mph top speed with 5.1 seconds to 60. What more could you ask for in a car?
This is supposed to be the smaller, tighter more focused of the Astons. As such it was tuned at the Nurburgring (a 13 mile 147 corner widowmaker of a track in Germany). As well as the rest of the Astons it's quite possibly the best looking car of all time. It's only got two seats but that doesn't stop it from being somewhat practical, it's got a hatchback. Yeah, I want one.

News:
I think the time is right for something that you won't see very often on this blog...news. It usually bores me but, if it's big, I'll sometimes put it on here. The big news tonight it that Richard (Dick) Cheney aka the Vice President of the United States of America, has shot another person. It was an accidental thing that happened on a hunting trip in Texas today. The victim is ok as far as I know (details are unclear) due to Cheney traveling with and ambulence at all times. I'll keep you posted as this progresses.

Red vs. Blue:
Yeah, here we go again, more quality entertainment. Another web series, called Red vs. Blue, produced by Rooster Teeth Productions, it's based on the popular video game Halo. For those know about the game Master Chief got rid of the Covodent Armada and the other forces were involved in civil wars. I won't give anything away but it's extremely funny. Not for the little ones though, plenty of language. A link shall be found on your right.

E-mail Security:
This evening I had some problems with my Yahoo! account. I would type in my ID and password (which I knew were correct) and it said that they were invalid. I thought maybe it was a server or network error so I called a friend to ask if he could get in to his. He explained

"Yeah we messed around with that, I tried to get into your E-mail and gave you a new password. You'll just have to change it.

This brought me on to something. Just how secure is my E-mail account? If he could just put in my Birthday, zip code, country, and pets name then give me a new password...anybody who knew me could have control of my E-mail. That would be bad.

P.S, you know who you are, if you try to hack my e-mail again I'm gonna beat you to death with your own skull.

MP3 Players:
I've been shopping for an MP3 player recently. Now I know what they mean by complicated market. Here are my problems at the moment:1) ipods are way too expensive. 2) I don't trust used electronics from people that I don't know. I had narrowed it down to to 2 choices, then I started reading reviews. Option number one: inoi 20 gb thing ($159). 5 star average review, but playlists are limited to 100 songs each (nowhere near enough) and you can't search through music via artist, genre, title ect. Option number 2, Creative Labs 20 gb thing ($209). People say that buttons screw up a few months after purchase, the headphones are trash, the software is useless, it has unlabeled buttons. I know exactly which one I want, but they don't make it anymore. I want a 20 gb Dell. I know from experience that it's easy to use. Playlists = whatever you want it to be, all kinds of good stuff. Except to get one I have to go used...typical.

As promised, here are a few pictures from the Montreal Car Show. Click the image to make it bigger!

Bently's lineup (from left Continental GT, Flying Spur, Flying Spur.)

Ford unveiled the new Shelby Cobra concept.

Also in the Ford booth there was the GT or GT40, hower you want to say it.

The Lamborghini Mercieolago Roadster, big crowd around it.

The Mercedes-McLaren SLR.

And, my two favorites...

...the Aston Martin V12 Vanquish and...

...the Aston Martin DB9.

Saturday, January 28, 2006

Went to the Montreal Car Show today. Had minor problems finding it but it was worth it.
Once inside saw lots of interesting cars, namely my absolute favorite Aston Martin DB9, there were some Bentley's, a bunch of BMW and Benz. Upstairs there were booths for Ferrari, Lamborghini, Maserati, and Porsche. There were also all kinds of normal variaties. Will post pictures soon, probably tommorow night.
Anyway, about half of the cars there were avalible to sit in I, of course, took advantage of this. There was a nice S-Class Mercedes there that I took the liberty of getting in to, loved it. Very comfortable and, with the door closed, quiet. Also a Jag X-Type, very nice. Land Rover Discovery's seats were a bit too hard for my likeing. Some very exiteing cars there, obviously. Things like the Mercedes-Meclaren SLR, Porsche Carrera GT, Ford GT (40), Lamborghini Merielago Roadster, Aston Martin DB9 and V12 Vanquish. Couldn't get anywhere near any of those ones though : (. As I said, pictures soon.

Walmart Fun

Stuff to do in Wal-Mart when the person you're with is taking to long...
1. Get 24 boxes of condoms and randomly put them in peoples' carts when they aren't looking.

2. Set all the alarm clocks in Housewares to go off at 5-minute intervals.

3. Make a trail of tomato juice on the floor leading to the rest rooms.

4. Walk up to an employee and tell him/her in an official tone, 'Code 3'in housewares and see what happens.

5. Go to the Service Desk and ask to put a bag of M&M's on lay away.

6. Move a 'CAUTION - WET FLOOR' sign to a carpeted area.

7. Set up a tent in the camping department and tell other shoppers you'll invite them in if they'll bring in pillows from the bedding department.

8. When a clerk asks if they can help you, begin to cry and ask 'Why can't you people just leave me alone?'

9. Look right into the security camera; use it as a mirror, & and pick your nose.

10. While handling guns in the hunting department, ask the clerk if he knows where the anti- depressants are.

11. Dart around the store suspiciously loudly humming the Mission Impossible theme.

12. In the auto department, practice your Madonna look using different size funnels.

13. Hide in a clothing rack; when people browse through, say PICK ME!

14. When an announcement comes over the loudspeaker, assume the fetal position and scream "NO! NO! It's those voices again!!!!And; last, but not least!

15. Go into a fitting room and shut the door and wait a while; and then yell, very loudly, "There is no toilet paper in here!"

Well technically it's a month, but still.
Name - January
Last Seen - around Sunday the 15th
31 days long, coldest of the year
What's with this weather?!?! It's a Friday night in the middle of the coldest month of the year in Northern Vermont, I should be geting ready to go snowmobiling tomorrow, but I'm not...because there's no snow. So much stuff has been changed by this. We've missed two ski trips, we'd normally be snowshoing in gym, I could be at home, outside, and not bored.

Car Stuff:
Big news from my favorite car manufacturer tonight. That'll be Aston Martin. They've decided to build a practical car! It's called the Rapide. It's basically a four door version of the fantastic DB9. It's almost as fast too, the six liter V12 churns out 480 bhp, does 0-60 in under 5 secs and top end will be on the exiting side if 3 miles per minute...thats 180 mph. It's got some thoughtful details too. The doors are hinged slightly upward, so you don't hit them on high curbs. Nice. I'll sum it up at this point, it's almost as fast as a DB9, it's got twice as many doors, it's more practical with a hatchback, and it's as good looking...damn, I didn't expect that. Click on the little picture to get a bigger picture, then you can get an even bigger and clearer version.

I'd just like to take a moment to express my sympathy too the friends and family of the 13 tragicly dead miners in West Virginia. I've heard that the company's been sited for 208 safety violations in the past couple years. That's appalling. But it's not all that important, no matter what becomes of it, no matter how many lawsuits are fought and won, no matter how much the company ends up paying for it's mistake. None of that really matters. What matters is that 13 innocent people, just like you and me with friends families and lifes, are dead. They didn't have to die, and that's where it hurts.

Car Stuff: Bugatti Veyron
Tonight the newest really really fast car around, or one of them anyway. Not only that, it's the Fastest, most powerful, and most expensive road car today. 253 mph, 1001 bhp, $1.25 million. Lots of little details too.
Engine: 8 Litre W12 (basicly 2 V8's stuck together at the sides. Has 10 radiators, a bit heavy on fuel. Suprise suprise. Flat out you can burn 100
litres of gas in about 12 minutes, seriously.
Gorgeous too...see?
Awsome sounding.
Awsome looking.
Awsome performance.
what more could you ask for...other than maybe a lower price tag.
